An Act to Protect Patients is the most significant amendment to the Health Professions Act since it was first introduced. The amendments were passed to protect patients from sexual abuse and sexual misconduct by regulated health professionals. Consequences of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians not complying with the legislation are severe.
