Summary
ACP is consulting on DRAFT Model Standards for Pharmacy Compounding of Non-Sterile Preparations. These draft standards have been developed nationally in collaboration with other provincial pharmacy regulatory authorities through the support of the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA).
A comprehensive interpretive guidance document has also been developed to support implementation of the standards, and to support your review of the draft standards. We are solely consulting on the standard, and will adapt the guidance pending any further changes approved by council.
Purpose of review and comment period
Preliminary consultations on the standards occurred in fall 2016. However, the feedback resulted in substantive changes. Therefore, ACP is consulting a second time, prior to considering adoption or adaption of the standards at the next council meeting, scheduled for March 1-2, 2018.
This consultation is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of Section 133(1) of the Health Professions Act.
